Chris Scuitto, a Landscape Architect and President of the company, started Artscape, Inc. in 1991 with the objective of “turning everyday landscaping into a living work of art.” Our design approach is simple –
		a garden should express the owner’s lifestyle and exhibit the ever-changing seasons with a succession of flowers and foliage. We begin each design process with a thorough analysis of the site by reviewing the existing architecture and the surrounding environment with the client. We believe that understanding the opportunities and constraints inherent to a site gives the architect more ability to create within the available space.
	Our design team then conceptualizes, collaborates, and creates a design through free-hand and CAD compositions. We work closely with architects, structural engineers, soil scientists, and other specialists to ensure that all of our designs are technically sound and blend nature, art, and architecture. Our specialties include accent lighting, natural stone waterfalls, pools, streams, biologically balanced water features, formal English perennial gardens with
		secret garden rooms, and outdoor rooms that have a “timeless” quality. We welcome environmentally challenging projects such as: tropical micro-climates within native settings, fire resistant plantings at the edge of existing chaparral, vertical slopes stabilized with wire mesh netting, gabions, and planter baskets.
